Chain reaction: Richard Gregory interviews Shayma Nader

Shayma Nader was resident with LE 18 in Morocco from 25 March – 19 May 2018. In this recording, she is interviewed by Richard Gregory of Quarantine. Quarantine were the Manchester partner of the Meet the Neighbours project. They also undertook a residency in Béthune, France from 30 March – 14 April 2018. Shayma undertook a second residency in Manchester, UK from 24 April – 11 May 2019, after this recording was made.

Meet the Neighbours was a three-year project (2017-2020) inviting artists into the heart of rapidly developing cities in five countries across Europe and North Africa. Through a series of artists’ residencies in domestic spaces, the project explored the shifting nature of city living, public space, shared knowledge and neighbourliness. In this series of recordings, artists who undertook residencies for the programme interview one another about their experiences.
